Social Media: An Insight into the Lives of Others
Everyone, even though they may not know it, does actually know or use some kind of social media on a daily basis. Whether they use YouTube to listen to music, Twitter to tweet about the latest breaking news, or Facebook to update their status; pretty much everyone has some access to a social media in one way or another.
Because of what social media offers to both businesses and the general public, everyone seems to be trying to jump on the bandwagon that MySpace started way back in 2003. Since then we’ve all been privy to the rise of Facebook, and in the last few years Twitter has been close behind and to a certain extent has kind of overtaken Facebook.
Google has recently jumped on that bandwagon and have developed their own social networking site called Google+, sometimes it’s called Google Plus. When this was initially launched its traffic spiked to 1,200% but recently, after official public release, the traffic has dropped by up to 60%. Not fantastic when you take into consideration the competition that they’ve got.
As was mentioned earlier, social media can help many different businesses in many different ways it’s just about making sure it’s the right way. If you get in touch with a social media agency they can help to grow your company’s online presence in many ways. You may not even want to grow your online presence, you may just want it sustaining at a certain level, or you may want to get your business out there on Facebook like big companies such as Coca-Cola, Nike and Adidas who all have a big social media footprint.
So not only does social media have an effect on our personal lives by giving us that little insight into what our friends do, it can also have an effect on your business. Whether that is a positive or negative effect however, is up to you.
